The History of the Nazareth Baptist School

The Nazareth Baptist School (NBS) was established as a primary school in 1935.  It was supported by the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention until 1991. In 1991, Southern Baptists' changed their initiatives and transferred NBS to indigenous leaders. The school operates as a private Evangelical Christian school. It is classed as a Recognized Evangelical Christian School by the Israeli Ministry of Education. It has been in continuous operations since its inception, except for a period during WWII. It reopened in 1949 and has remained as a premier center for K-12 learning since that time.

Status and Vision -
NBS is the only Recognized Evangelical K-12 school in Israel. It has over 3000 graduates. Current enrollment is 1000 students.
The vision of NBS is:

Building the Rising Generations - Glorifying Jesus Christ through Distinctive Education.

Facilities -

The facilities are aged and tired. During late 2017 and early 2018 out-of-the-ordinary rains were responsible for serious damage to the Main Campus. These buildings were constructed during the 1950-70s. The building codes were not as strict as they are today and many parts of the building are in need of much repair. Some areas are unsafe and these issues must be resolved, sooner rather than later.

The facilities at both the Main Campus and the rented campus for the Primary School are overused and crowded. There are no green spaces. They are overcrowded. Yet, in these less than ideal circumstances, God has bless the school with extraordinary academic achievements by its students. It is without question, the most academically strong school in Galilee, as well as Israel.

We are trusting God for enhancements to the present facilities and relocation for at least the High School.
