“Call for prayer” update

'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.

– Zachariah 4:6

Dear Friend,

Earlier this summer we asked you to join with hundreds throughout the U.S. and abroad and pray for God’s wisdom and direction to secure land for a new, needed campus for Nazareth Baptist School, the only evangelical K-12 school in Israel.

Thank you for your prayers. Please keep praying. God is at work. One potential site has emerged and has caught the attention of everyone familiar with the school.

Pray that Lord’s good and perfect will be done. At stake is nothing less than the education and future of thousands of Arab Christian young people, the hope of the Gospel in Israel and throughout the Middle East.

I will continue to update you in coming days.

God bless you,
Rev. Dick Thomassian

New spiritual center to open this fall

A new Spiritual Center is a creating a gathering place at the school where students can have a place to:

  • pray individually or in a group
  • meet for bible study or discipleship sessions
  • use Christian books , tapes , CDs and other resources for their own studies or researches

Says Manal Haddad, longtime school faculty member, who will direct the center, “It is very important to stand in the gap for the school, especially in these times of living in a very secular world. The center gives us a necessary, important gathering place, for teams of prayer warriors from school, and visitors who come and want to bless the school.

Manal is very competent and close to students who love her for her care and sense of humor and wit. Her desire for students and the staff is that they get to know closer to the Lord.

“The Spiritual Center,” she adds, “emphasizes the goal of the school, which is to spread the word of the Gospel. It meets the needs of students who show interest in knowing more and who are searching for more beyond what they’re already receiving in their Bible classes and chapel services. Ultimately, the Spiritual Center is about nothing less than spiritual revival.”

About the new center, one student says, "We longed for a place where we can have privacy to sit and talk freely about things we need to know and learn" said one student.” Says a fellow student, "It's nice that we can meet here to pray for our own school and for our friends and classmates. We should always lift them up in prayer, trying always to win them for the Lord.”

A teacher adds, “It's good to know someone is praying for us. It gives me peace to know that this place is open for me when I need it in the midst of a hard working day."
